A marketing website where the chat collects enquiries before the contact form

Websites built on HubSpot's content hub are usually there to generate enquiries. Selo Assist helps by answering visitors' questions straight away and asking for contact details when they are interested.

HubSpot lets you add HTML to the footer of all your pages from your website settings, which is where the widget goes.

How to set it up

  1. 1

    Create your assistant

Sign up and enter your website address so the assistant can read your pages.

  2. 2

    Allow your domain

Add each domain your HubSpot pages are published on under Allowed websites on the Widget page.

  3. 3

    Copy the embed code

    Copy the one-line script tag.

    <script src="https://chat.siteselo.com/widget.js" data-workspace="pk_..." async></script>
  4. 4

    Paste it into HubSpot

In HubSpot open Settings, go to the website pages settings, choose the domain, and paste the code into the site footer HTML field. Save, and it applies to the pages on that domain.

  5. 5

    Check it

Open a live page in a private window and ask a question.

Why it works

  • Questions answered before the form

Visitors often have one question before they will fill in a form. The assistant answers it on the spot.

  • Leads you can export

Contact details collected in the chat are saved in your leads list and can be downloaded as a CSV file.

  • Human takeover

Your team can jump into any conversation from the Selo Assist inbox.

Common questions

Does it send leads to HubSpot CRM automatically?

Not yet. Leads are saved in Selo Assist and can be exported as a CSV file, which you can import into HubSpot.

Can I use it alongside HubSpot's own chat?

You can, but two chat buttons confuse visitors. Most businesses choose one.

Does it work on HubSpot landing pages?

Yes, as long as the code is included in the footer HTML for the domain those pages use.
